Dr. MANISHIMWE Rosine

Dr. Rosine Manishimwe is  the division manager for veterinary medicine and devices assessment and registration. Her responsibilities are focused on assuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of veterinary pharmaceuticals before they are placed on the Rwandan market. Prior to this position, she worked as a lecturer at the University of Rwanda, the department of veterinary medicine.

She is a veterinarian by education and specialized in veterinary public health specifically in veterinary epidemiology in her master’s degree. Her PhD from Texas Tech University focused on antimicrobial resistance among Gram-negative bacteria from food-producing animals.

 Dr. Manishimwe’s goal in research is to contribute to the improvement of animal and public health. Her research activities mainly focus on antimicrobial resistance exploration and profiling in food animals and related environments. As a woman in research and leadership, she has a strong interest in contributing to mainstreaming women in science and leadership.
