Dr. Steven Nkusi

Dr. Steven Nkusi is the Division Manager for Human Medicines and Devices Registration at Rwanda FDA. In this role, he oversees the regulation and registration processes for human medicines and medical devices, ensuring they meet rigorous standards for safety, quality, and efficacy.

Dr. Nkusi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management, and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, from Annamalai University in India. During his academic journey, he underwent a comprehensive clinical rotation at Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital, where he gained extensive hands-on experience in clinical pharmacy. His expertise was further refined during his tenure as a Clinical Pharmacist at Armitha ENT Clinics, where he demonstrated exemplary patient care and medication management skills.

In 2021, Dr. Nkusi served as the Pharmacovigilance and Post-Market Surveillance Analyst at Rwanda FDA. Additionally, he is the National Focal Point for Substandard and Falsified Medical Products, playing a pivotal role in combating their distribution and use to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of medical products in Rwanda.

Dr. Nkusi embodies an unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and integrity in healthcare delivery. He has undergone various trainings in clinical trials, market surveillance and control, pharmacovigilance, assessment and registration of medical products, and rational drug use. His training also includes clinical management of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
