HABIYAREMYE Theobald
Theobald HABIYAREMYE is the Division Manager of the Drugs Imports and Exports Control Division at Rwanda FDA. Before the current position, he was the Division Manager of the Food and Drugs Import and Export Control Division. He has extensive experience in Health Supply Chain Management system design, policy development, strategic planning, and implementation. His responsibilities are focused on coordinating the control of the importation and exportation of all regulated products to ensure that they comply with the regulatory requirements before they are placed on the Rwandan market.
Before joining Rwanda FDA, Theobald worked as the Pharmaceutical Development and Supply Chain Coordination Specialist to oversee the pharmaceutical Services in the Ministry of Health and has also worked at different levels of the healthcare system from the private wholesale pharmacy, District Hospital, and Rwanda Biomedical Center in the former Medical Procurement and Production Division(MPPD) and HIV/AIDS, STIs, and Other Blood-Borne Infections Division.
Theobald is a pharmacist by education and specialized in Health Supply Chain Management. He holds a Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) and a Master’s Degree in Health Supply Chain Management from the University of Rwanda; an Inter-University Degree in Supply Chain Management in the fight against HIV, TB, and Malaria in Sub-Saharan Africa from the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. His operational research focused on the integration of health supply chain management and the availability of pharmaceutical products in the country. In his new endeavor, he aspires to focus on regulatory system strengthening, pharmacoeconomics, and pharmacoepidemiology evaluation of pharmaceuticals.
