Ms. Marie Ange Uwase

Marie Ange is the Division Manager for Quality Management System (QMS) at Rwanda FDA. As a registered pharmacist in Rwanda, she brings over eight years of experience in local and international NGOs, clinical pharmacy, and regulatory environments.
Marie Ange holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) from the University of Rwanda and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Suffolk. Her career has involved significant collaboration with various stakeholders, including patients and donors.
At Rwanda FDA since 2020, Marie Ange has served in roles such as Regulatory Affairs, Harmonization and Compliance Advisor, and Drug Products Information, Promotion and Advertising Specialist. As the QMS focal person, she has received extensive QMS-related training both locally and internationally, enhancing operational efficiency.
Previously, Marie Ange was the National Coordination Representative at Vision for a Nation Foundation, overseeing primary eye healthcare, and the Director of the Center for Health and Rights at Health Development Initiative (HDI). She has also received training in pediatric oncology in Rwanda and Egypt.
Marie Ange is a board member of the National Pharmacy Council/Rwanda, a member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), and a trainer at the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF). She is also a founding member and volunteer at the Rwanda Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance (RNCDA).
Her focus at Rwanda FDA includes implementing ISO standards and fostering continuous improvement in quality management systems to meet and exceed customer expectations.
